My point of view

Thank you tzern and matt for you view and comments, truly appreciate it.

1)
I think today's youth in general are changing. Youth, be it teens or young adults are more independent, and would think that they are capable of accomplishing things themselve and with their ways. Youth today are also heavily bombarded by the media, for example physical appearance. They no longer accept the way they and thinks that only by getting into shape would they be accepted. If i were to sum it up, youth today are really in some way or another lost in their own world of fantasy, (even sometimes i fall into this category).

2)This i would have to agree with both tzern and matt, many of the youth today do not really know who they are, or what is their own identity..then again if we were to profile them up in a list, it would be never ending. Because their characters are so different. It is very hard. I think would could be done is that, to help them realise that they are God's creation and also Children or God

3) Sometimes, the mind of a youth can be very complicated. Unfortunately, there are many youth out there who were neglected by their parents at a young age, and they don't get the love and support of their parents, this would cause them to look for "love and support" from wrong groups of people. A few very common thought that will always run thru a youth's mind is "why am i not like him/her?" "Why can't my friends, parents appreciate the hard work i put in?".. Insecurity would be the word for this. Youth in general just want to be appreciated by their parents, friends, and family.

4) LIke i said above, and also love, care, accpetance, most importantly they should first come from parents..Because parents are infact the most powerful role model in a youth's life. If all these things fall into place at the very begining.."do it right the first time ,a nd you will never go wrong"

5) I agree with both tzern and matt. We also need to ask God for a good understanding of today's youth, it is not easy to comfort some one. But the main thing to do now is to pray, our society today is falling apart, corrupted and darken. I think the key tool today is to have youth reaching out to youth, be we undertand the pain and struggles our generation goes thru, but adults also plays an important role in guiding , and also supporting us in prayer. Prayers makes all the difference

Fellow bloggers/readers, you can continue to post your comments and thoughts thru this post or the previous post. Shalom, and may God Bless you.

Thanks for all your comments, please allow me to encapsulate the following

Issue Number 1 Relationship (Family, Peers & Role Model)
Family dysfunction and instability have a direct impact on the youth today. Is that true?
Who influences you more your parents or??
Are relationships important? If yes, why?
Who will you turn to in time of trouble or for help in making major decision in your lives?

Youth are looking for role model to imitate. My opinion is that the youth today is not looking for an adult that dresses like they do, knows all the latest trends in youth culture or even talk like them. I believe that what they are looking today are adults that are crazy about them and are willing to share their lives with them.

Is it true, if yes….do you have a role model?

Issues Number 2 Adolescent Development
Unfortunately we forget adolescent is a time of transition and change. Teenagers move rapidly from childhood to adulthood. Not only their bodies but also their minds, emotions, friendships and even their faith-are making major transitions
They are force to grow up too fast and too soon.
What are your thoughts on these matters?

Issues Number 3 Changes
The young people are more knowledgeable, have greater opportunities and are filled with greater potential than people of any other time in history. However with all these, they have to deal with more stress, anxiety, expectation and pressure than those of any pervious generation.
In the real sense, with the borderless world today, young people are like ship on the open sea, facing the raging storm of culture with little to guide them.

How than can we help/guide the youth through the storms of their lives

Issue Number 4 Premarital sex, Drugs & Alcohol
Are these real issues effecting the youth today?

Issue Number 5 Multi- Media & Internet
The influence of today’s media is alarming. Modern cable television holds teenagers’ attention through sophisticated technology and fast-paced visual images. Visual stimulation is a high to the mind similar to that of chemical high. Today a young person’s moral, values and thought are molded as much by the media as by relationships. The media is profoundly affecting our society and young people are constantly being bombarded with messages and images from the media.

Every television show, movie or lyric carries a message from its creator. The questions we need to asked-who is educating and influence our youth? MTV or? Is MTV more than a TV channel or, has created a culture??

Appreciate your input… Thank & have a nice day.
