becoming a Chef?

I've always been fascinated by food, and cooking. That's the reason why i took up this course that i'm doing now. But i'm still far from being a cook, hack what more a chef?!

I've heard many people say that, a chef is paid well. Then again, i'm not so much into the money, but of the passion and desire and interest! I mean, money will come money will go, but the experience and they sheer joy of cooking can never be replace by MONEY.

My one inspiration comes from my parents, they can cook and cook well. Its not very often that you see the man of the house cook. What more, both parents cook together; sharing the same kitchen with the same equipments and ingredient but totally different recipes. This is my third term into my first year of studies, i've learn much from my chef(lecturer). An award winning chef i would say!!

while i was back for chinese new year, i meet up with my uncle who happens to own a french fine dinning restaurant in singapore! Awesome. We had a good chat about french food and his restaurant, what was amazing was that he said i could come down anytime i want and he will ask his chefs to teacj me some stuff and get some experience, what more can i ask for. This is a invitation i cannot refuse! I will seriously consider about it.! He told me something that i realise was really true and down to earth. That was that, an excellent chef is not judge by how well he cooks but how well he receive critism and correction!
