Monstrosity!!

It was Just that(The theme)!! It was orientation night, and mind you that we(my batch-cuisine) has to be there at 2pm and we only finish by 10.30pm. But ultimately it wasn't only today that was monstrous, it was practically this whole week, filled with assignment and assessments, and i had to also juggle with time, it was dead hectic!! Anyways i'm here to talk about yesterday and today.

So it was, yesterday(thursday) after having had to endure theory classes from 9am til 6pm, we had to change to our kitchen attire and proceed to the *all beautiful* kitchen suite. What in the world are we doing? Well we were preparing mise-en-place for tonight's orientation for our*beloved* juniors...which was tonight(friday)...it was a gruelling time, as me and 2 other friends were given the task of preportioning of MACKEREL fish...and its not so fresh, *try imagining the smell* Fishy!! Oh ya i think the number of fishes we did was like almost 20 fishes!! WIIckered man..all the mise-en-place was done by 10pm that night..

As usual, due to the tiredness, a number of us *lazy arse* including me didn't went for the 9am class this morning..hahaha...2pm, it was time to get into the kitchen and get briefing about today's job..it was chaotic!! Each of us had our job assignments given and at first we were all so afraid to do what we were told, and was being unsure of whether it is the right way..so we like all students, kept on asking the chefs what to do next and how to do it, even the simplest things like wrapping the food and putting them into the chiller..GOSH!! What's wrong?! But in the midst of this *chaos* there was a strong teamwork shown..everyone was..(well almost) helping each other as much as possible.-Oh the chicken that we prepared last night was smelling bad today and we had to throw them away- all in all it went on well.

This is the best part, when the buffet actually started we had to rush like roadrunners to refill the buffet lines, it was total craziness..3 months in training i've never seen such RUSH!! we had prepared the food for 500pax, and i think there was only 200plus of them, but man if you were there-jaws open, eyes popping-these people looks as if they have not eaten in days..then again typical malaysians..free food, hantam!!!! This proves that the food was good, and people were willing to try everything!! everything including salads and fish!! We(kicthen peepz)were i believe very satisfied, because to see the food being eaten up...afford paid off. Oh we got a huge applause and shouts from every guest, and a thanks from the student council..well indeed..

Ultimately, it was the bonding of the whole kitchen staff, true colors was shown, attitude...but we are friends and friends accpet each other the way they are...SHout out to DH22/cuisine!!
