Fire!!

Oh man, yesterday was my first day in the laundry department, working afternoon shift. As usual, on sundays, it would be busy because people would be checking out from the resort. So here i was introducing myself to my now found friend in the laundry, and there was only the 2 of us, he an indian me chinese..
We started work right away, taking towels out of the dry cleaner and also putting linens to be washed, there was tons of it..."mathan...u dengan itu trainee(that's me) pergi collect semua linene di bilik-bilik block H!" Mathan was my friend's name...but he didn't want to follow what the executive house keepers orders, due to the fact that we have work overloading..so we continue doing laundries til 7.30..after a series of orders from the exec. housekeeper, we had no choice but to do the clearing, in order to shut her up...so the both of us, pushing 2 linen trolies that can fit 2 person my size and started work at block H...we did the first round collecting over 15 rooms, and then head back to the laundry room to unload the dirty laundry. As we were there, i could smell burned smell, and i inform my collegue, but we left it alone because it was common. The dry cleaner we used there are equiped with high heat(fire) to dry the towels and cloths, so before we went out the 1st round we made sure that all the machines are off.

As we started our second round, about 15min into round 2, my collegue got a phone call, and he told me "laundry, api"!!! so he ran i walked, hahaha...and went we came to the sight, it was smoking with smokes, smell of burned rubber, and towels. I found out that one of the dry cleaner was on fire and the door of the machine was burn beyond regconition. Wa...scary man...
Poor exec housekeeper, she would have to hold the responsibility of this, haih....accidents happen...i've been told yesterday that this wasn't the first time such things happen...rugi

Wow! Scary stuff man... Luckily you weren't in there when that happened. Just hope that everything went well and thank God that you are alright. Well, last few days, just hang in there and do the job because your evaluation will count in the report and future job interviews.
