Friends in High places

"I was in need and i needed a friend, i was alone and i needed a hand. I was going down, but someone rescued me. My God cares to much to say, His mercies are new everyday, i get down and pray and then help is on its way- I've got friends in high places, i've got everything i need, i walk by faith and not by what i see-"

This was the song that is playing through my head now, pondering upon the lyrics brings back memories and truth about friends, be they near or far. How bless i am to count myself worthy enough to have all the friends that i have, here in locally as well as abroad!

The most trustworthy, loyal and honest friend in this world, and the world after is undoubtfully my God. He has been everywhere, everytime, every how.. There was no missed. Even at times when we blame Him for disappearing when we needed Him the most, He was there. God was there when David faced Goliath, He was there when Daniel was thrown into the lion's den, He was there when the foundation of the earth was established, He was there when the isrealites cross the red sea, He was there when Abraham was about to sacrifice his only Son! Most of all He was there when His only Son was crucified.

Isaiah 41:10- So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold upi with my righteous right hand.-

Romans 5:8- But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us-

How much are we a friend to others, are we willing to lay down our life for another? For Christ laid down His life as the perfect offering of sacrifice for us all. Sometimes i do struggle with this problem, that i failed in treat people well, and failing to love them as Jesus has commanded(John 13:34,35). People who needs a friend most are people who needs the Lord MOST. To be a friend, giving and helping unconditionally is to show how of Christ is in us(John 14:21), and how much we love God.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourgae one another- and all the more as we see the Day approaching.
